Primary Group Highlights

February Wrap-Up: Hearts, Health, and Heritage!

What a whirlwind of a month! Our classroom was buzzing with energy as we balanced learning about our bodies with celebrating some wonderful traditions. If your child came home talking about "Chinese lanterns" or "flossing techniques," here is a look at the "why" behind the fun

❤️ We Followed Our Hearts

February was American Heart Month, and our little learners became "Heart Heroes." We spent the month exploring how our hearts work and what they need to stay strong.

  • The Highlight: We turned our movement break into a "Pulse Check" experiment, where students felt the difference in their heartbeats before and after exercising.

  • The Lesson: We learned that eating "rainbow foods" (fruits and veggies) is like giving our hearts a high-five.

🦷 Bright Smiles All Around

To celebrate Children’s Dental Health Month, we brushed up on our hygiene habits to keep cavities away.

🧧 Lunar New Year Traditions

The classroom was transformed with splashes of red and gold in lanterns we crafted as we celebrated the Chinese New Year. It was a beautiful opportunity to explore global traditions and the importance of family.

💌 Friendship & Valentines

We capped off the month with our Valentine’s Day Party! It wasn't just about the candy; it was a major milestone for our budding writers.

  • Writing Skills: Addressing 20+ valentines is no small feat for a primary student! It was incredible practice for penmanship and following a class list.
