ABOUT
Founded in the summer of 2020, Wilmore Crossing Academy endeavors to fill the void for an alternative schooling option in Jessamine and nearby counties - including the greater Lexington area. Micro-schools are a reinvention of the old one-room schoolhouse concept with small multi-age/level groups. Homeschool families are increasingly drawn to micro-schools because they offer individualized academic structure in a flexible, and socially creative atmosphere.
Wilmore Crossing Academy provides a full range of classes for students in grades K through 12. Course offerings have included: Adulting, Art around the World, Civics, Costume & Set Design, Creative Writing, Cursive & Keyboarding, Debate, Dystopian Literature, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Science, Finance Park, Geography, Government, Logic Detectives, Mad Skills, Mindful Movers, Robotics, Spanish & Theater.
Class sizes are limited to complement non-traditional schooling with generally a 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio in core subjects. Smaller classes allow for deeper learning through lecture, discussion, research and hands-on exploration. Here at WCA, our goal is to help students find their P.A.T.H.

Wilmore Crossing Academy empowers students to find their P.A.T.H.—purpose, aptitude, talent, and heart—through personalized instruction, experiential courses, and collaborative learning, in a safe and supportive, non-traditional educational environment with small class sizes, hands-on experiences, and structured yet flexible options that meet the unique needs of each student and family.
